I'm Going to a Tea Party!

A Tax Day Tea Party in our nation's capitol on April 15th.

I love my nation. It was forged with prayers and tears and blood.
Some of those who have protected our liberty are in my own family: my great grandfather, my uncles, my father.

And so, to honor those who have sacrificed for me, I will make a pilgrimage to stand against some things I believe are wrong.

I am going because:
  • I LOVE my country and believe that despite all the things wrong with it, we still have many things right with it!

As Thomas Jefferson said: My God!  How little do my countrymen know what precious blessings they are in possession of, and which no other people on earth enjoy!
  • America is my home.

Giuseppe Mazzini said: Love your country. Your country is the land where your parents sleep, where is spoken that language in which the chosen of your heart, blushing, whispered the first word of love; it is the home that God has given you that by striving to perfect yourselves therein you may prepare to ascend to him.
  • I believe that as an American, I have a duty to defend our Constitution upon which our nation was founded.

Calvin Coolidge said: Patriotism is easy to understand in America - it means looking out for yourself by looking out for your country.
  • I am certain that I'd better have a say in politics.

Edmund Burke said: All that is necessary for evil to succeed is that good (wo)men do nothing.

The Tea Party is on Thursday, April 15th
at 7 o'clock
(not 5 o'clock like my postcard above reads)
on Pennsylvania Avenue, Washington, D.C.

I'll let you know all the details when I get back!
