I love my nation. It was forged with prayers and tears and blood.
Some of those who have protected our liberty are in my own family: my great grandfather, my uncles, my father.
And so, to honor those who have sacrificed for me, I will make a pilgrimage to stand against some things I believe are wrong.
I am going because:
- I LOVE my country and believe that despite all the things wrong with it, we still have many things right with it!
- America is my home.
- I believe that as an American, I have a duty to defend our Constitution upon which our nation was founded.
Calvin Coolidge said: Patriotism is easy to understand in America - it means looking out for yourself by looking out for your country.
- I am certain that I'd better have a say in politics.
Edmund Burke said: All that is necessary for evil to succeed is that good (wo)men do nothing.
The Tea Party is on Thursday, April 15th
at 7 o'clock
(not 5 o'clock like my postcard above reads)
on Pennsylvania Avenue, Washington, D.C.
I'll let you know all the details when I get back!
